Infobox
[edit]I accidentally got rid of the infobox! I don't know how to replace it! Help! StatisticsUpdater (talk) 11:39, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
I fixed it. Don't worry. StatisticsUpdater (talk) 12:03, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
2020 section - remove forecasts
[edit]In the 2020 section it says "... estimation that the economy could shrink by 35% in Q2 2020". Should this sentence be removed, I don't think an article summarising the UK economy should include estimates or forecasts that do not link to subsequent actions or results (ie it is OK to include a reported estimate if followed with an actual outcome or some change in policy). Wikipedia:NOTFUTURE John a s (talk) 23:05, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, should be removed. Plus it is a very rough estimate and likely to be superceded with better data. Jolly Ω Janner 01:13, 29 April 2020 (UTC)
"UK is an emerging market"
[edit]No unbiased independent organisation is calling the UK an emerging market. Only the UK's back-stabbing economic rivals are saying that. Firebrace (talk) 19:52, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
- I don't know what you mean by "back-stabbing economic rivals", which doesn't sound like the kind of description that has a place in discussion of article content, but the editor who keeps adding this is Thegoodsoul. Thegoodsoul, please stop - a few speculative opinion pieces aren't enough to change the classification of an economy. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:45, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
- Well, it got your attention. Firebrace (talk) 22:53, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
Wealth in the United Kingdom
[edit](moved from Category:Wealth in the United Kingdom)
The difference in wealth between the wealthiest 10% and the poorest 10% has been increasing since 2008. The richest 10% of households owned 45% of national wealth in 2018, while the poorest 10% owned only 2%.[1]

The 'Recentism' template
[edit]This seems a little out of place as the section is, by definition, about things that are recent.
If no-one objects I think it should go. Lukewarmbeer (talk) 11:32, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
- Rather than removing it completely, I've moved it to the start of the history section as a whole, which only starts in 1945. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:45, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
