- Delete. Just another school, which Wikipedia is not a repository of. If something notable happens there, we can keep it. Until then, nix. —Frecklefoot 19:14, Apr 27, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Locally notable. Everyking 19:31, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- My alma mater is "locally notable," but that doesn't mean it gets an entry. In fact, I think most schools are locally notable, but that doesn't qualify them for entries. There's a reason we don't list every school in the world on Wikipedia. —Frecklefoot 19:49, Apr 27, 2004 (UTC)
- The reason being, of course, that in a mere four years not everyone in the planet has had time to write up about all the schools yet, or even to hear about Wikipedia. The same reason we don't have articles on all the bird families in the order Passeriformes written yet, or articles for all the towns in Bedfordshire. Wiwaxia 06:31, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Well, if your alma mater is locally notable, I think it should have an article. What exactly is the problem with including things that are only of local note? Do you support the inclusion of all the pages stating census data for small towns? What about a page on a local mayor or politician, would that be acceptable? Everyking 20:05, 27 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware that no consensus had been reached on this subject. Wikipedia_talk:Deletion_policy/schools has views that run the gammut with no clear winning view. I was under the impression non-notable schools should be deleted. This school clearly falls into that category. Personally, I lean towards deleting these entries as they can almost never be expanded beyond stubs. Notable schools (such as Columbine) deserve entries. As far as census data, I think articles on small towns and such should have entries, simply because there is a lot to say about them, even if it is only census data. Local politicians? Not unless they did something notable or are mayor of a very large city, such as San Francisco or New York City. Small towns all over the US have mayors that change every few years that do little but keep the local political structure in place. —Frecklefoot 20:46, Apr 27, 2004 (UTC)

- Once again, I'd like to say that I think this school stuff is ridiculous. Schools are important institutions ( whether you went to one or not ). Local history IS important, even if it is not YOUR local history. Schools deserve to be noted, whether it's a public high school ( like Paris District High School ) or a private high school (like Upper Canada College, which doesn't seem to have as many complaints as the other schools for the simple reason that it's a rich school ). Oh, and looks like some 'important' people went to PDHS after all (see additions to Paris Distict High School) Oooooooooo. . . . Phil Larin 02:28, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, see Template:VfD-Trinityanglicanschool for reasons and discussion. -- Tim Starling 04:34, Apr 28, 2004 (UTC)
- OK. Now I've updated the page, and it should be acceptable to everyone (apologies to Mr. Frecklefoot as there were no shootings, bombings, mass killings or other types of excitment to report of! :) Good lord, what would CNN do!?
Everyone who has voted please see updated Paris District High School )

- Keep. Harmless, even if of limited interest. TB 14:25, 28 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. TB raised a good point. There's no reason to delete a page, just because only two people are going to view them in the next year. It's still just as well written, and its noted in its community. Why not have a page. Serious, is the fact that there's an article on the Paris District High School going to hurt people editing articles on the Aramaic language, World War II, John Kerry, or Palestine? No. So then does it hurt the most critical areas of our encyclopedia? No again. There's no reason to delete this article. -- user:zanimum
- Keep. Wiki is cool because coverage is so wide in scope. Interesting comment about the Police calls. In HS we never had a police call back in 1972-76. Kd4ttc 21:18, 1 May 2004 (UTC)

updated mention; removed crime/drug thing
[edit]I removed the comment about crime, since it was to vague, and not backed up. I haven't a clue which schools have gangs. I don't want to imply it's common elsewhere in Ontario (without proof). Anyway, that can go in another article. --rob 10:45, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]Can someone who knows a little bit more about the school add the {{infobox high school}} to this? Thanks! tiZom(2¢) 22:49, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
