1868 – Manningham station opens on the Midland Railway north of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.
1869 – Henry Keyes succeeds Henry C. Lord as president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
1881 – The first train operates between Norwood, Ohio, and Lebanon, Ohio, on the Cincinnati Northern Railway.
1929 – Central Railroad of New Jersey debuts the Blue Comet passenger train (pictured) before its launch in regular service in New Jersey.
