Physical Insecurity?
[edit]Just curious, how is physical insecurity a violation of the 10th commandment? Noah 08:33, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, Noah. Covetousness applies to anything we envy, including others' bodies. Of course, our own body can become an idol as well, which violates #1/#2. Triped 14:34, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- But doesn't physical insecurity only effect your own perception of your body? If I think my body looks bad, it doesn't nessicarly mean that I am coveting someone elses body does it? Noah 14:41, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I am operating off of the assumption that that generalized discontent is covetousness. For example, discontentment because I don't have my friend's Porsche is wrong, but so is discontentment because I don't have any Porsche, or any other car. Similarly, I can still covet a better body, even if I couldn't name a specific body I'd like to have (and I can't). It's a very broad commandment, I've sadly found. Triped 16:08, Jun 2, 2005 (UTC)

Grape merchant?
[edit]Because you're not an anonymous flybynight, I'm going to give you a chance to expand the entry instead of putting it up on VfD right away. But unless you can put in something about why it's notable by Sunday, I'm afraid I'm going to have to. Sorry. DS 22:12, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
- Heh. If 250-odd google hits, regional prominence, and strong affiliation with a notable charity aren't enough to warrant a short stub, something's wrong. What do you want me to do, poll Floridians for name recognition? Triped 22:22, August 4, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, that's an answer, at least. But Dan Marino Foundation is redlinked; can you fill it in? DS 00:54, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can do. Triped 02:26, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Icon_ryan.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Icon_ryan.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see User talk:Carnildo/images. 12:11, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Woody guthrie.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Woody guthrie.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fred-Chess 12:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Triped! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 273 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- David Pajo - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 23:41, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
The article The grape merchant has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable per WP:COMPANY, no significant coverage online from WP:Reliable sources.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shire Reeve (talk) 21:06, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The grape merchant
[edit]You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on The grape merchant requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Peridon (talk) 21:50, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:10, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
