In response to your question in Talk:Nakhichevan

[edit]

Hi,

I just noticed your question in Talk:Nakhichevan regarding UDI of Nakhichevan from Soviet Union in 1990. The interesting thing about this decision was that this was the first such decision by a (sub-)subject of the Soviet Union, so, in this sense Nakhichevan preceded even the Baltic countries, which were the first Soviet republics to secede from the Union. Another interesting point regarding this decision was that, whereas Nakhichevan declared its secession from USSR, it did not declare secession from then Azerbaijan SSR and remained its part. But as far as I know this UDI has lost its legal effect after Azerbaijan's declaration of independence in 1991. Hope that brings some clarity to your question. Best. --Tabib 06:06, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)

your comment moved from my userpage Yes, I no this was from the USSR. I however do not think it was in the name of Azerbaijan. I think this was an autonomaous SSR that due to ethnic reasons declared independence. With Azerbaijan's came the policy of continued succesion. It should be noted that while Chechnia elects its on leaders their is a moscow backed counterpart president. If Naki still aint claiming independence check this leadership lineage out.

http://www.worldstatesmen.org/Azerbaijan.html#Nakhichevan

the chairman of the parliament is what im looking at. Vasif Talybov has been in office sense 1993. I believe he is Nakhi's succesionist leader.

My dear friend, I frankly couldn't refrain myself from a smile when reading this message. Nakhichevan is 99% ethnic Azeri(Turk), it is one of the most homogenous areas of Azerbaijan. It has a word "Nakh" in its name and that is why some people believe that its name derives from north Caucasian Nakh tribes. Others say that it's from Nakh-jihan, meaning 'Noah's colony'. Whatever the origin, present day Nakhichevanis are pure Azeris. Cheers ;-) --Tabib 08:44, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)
your comment moved from my userpagebeing from North Carolina i kno all succesionist is not ethnic based.. Dont forget Austria isnt unified with Germany, or so on. Either way a succesion is a succesion. Im looking to see what is going on with it. I call it nakh for short i might add.. Can you tell me its status??
Hey there again. As User:Knowledge Seeker said below, user pages are not for posting comments, but you're always welcome to drop a note to my talkpage.
As to your question, I believe, the current WP enry for Nakhichevan gives some basic info. It is an autonomous republic within Azerbaijan, it has its own parliament and the speaker of local parliament (Vasif Talibov) is also the head of autonomy, (formally he doesn't have executive powers, and this power belongs to head of autonomy's Cabinet of ministers, dont know his name). Nakhchivan has rather broad internal autonomy, but foreign policy and military matters are controlled by the central government in Baku.
Nakhichevan's autonomy was established not due to some ethnic, cultural or other similar differences with mainland Azerbaijan, but because of its geographical distance from Azerbaijan. As you can see from the map, Nakhichevan is separated from AZ proper by an Armenian territory. Hope that brings more clarity.--Tabib 10:11, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)

Hi there. I haven't gotten around to any research yet. When I get a chance, I'm planning to hit the local university library, where I've got a couple questions I want to answer. Whenever I do that, I'll try to resolve the questions on Dagestan.

I'm just a volunteer here, remember. Last weekend I was busy with the Wikipedia meeting in D.C. I also have a job and (to a lesser extent) a social life.

By the way, you can sign your comments on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~).

AWA Stars

[edit]

Are you responsible for the recent articles making notes of the "new" AWA's heritage to the one active from 1960-91? I'd really like to know why you are claiming Dale Gagne(r) only bought the name only. I'd like to know where you referenced that opinion from. If its based on puroresu.com/wrestlingtitlehistories or whatever I'd like you to ignoore that. The only reason that remark is on their is due to a string of confrontations on proresu.com forums. Either way im editing all AWA articles to make sure that personal attack is not mention. If any wrestlewikis have questions on this tell me about it. User:Vital Component-

  • Hello, I am not sure exactly what you are referring to with this. I have made some references to the fact that Dale Gagne (Dale Gagner) restarted the 1960-91 AWA as AWA Superstars in 1996. I have not said that he bought the name only that I am aware of. Something I have written may have sounded like that if it has to do with the World Titles, but that is because it lost it's World Titles status when it closed in 1991 and would have to get bigger than a regional promotion in my estimation to regain it. I have always gone by Pro Wrestling Illustrated(PWI) for what titles are World Titles and which ones are not, and PWI does not give the new AWA title World Title status anymore.

If that is not what you were referring to, then I have not been involved in it. That is the only point I have been making about the new AWA.

I hope this helps clear things up for you! Let me know if you have any more questions regarding the AWA and World Title status. Thanks!

Image Tagging Image:Strasky.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Strasky.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Greba 00:47, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pingshit.GIF. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

CSA President

For the 4th time in 6 months, I have reverted your edits to President of the Confederate States of America. The President pro tempore of the Provisional Confederate Congress is not the same thing as President of the Confederate States. Please stop adding this to the article. Unspecified source for Image:Deadgreen 004.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Deadgreen 004.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Strangerer (Talk | Contribs) 13:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for bad image uploads

[edit]

stop

Hello, I notice you have uploaded a large number of images in the course of the last two years, virtually all of which have been deleted for failing our copyright policies. Still, you have continued making these bad image uploads. Now, most recently you uploaded two copyrighted images as allegedly self-made, evidently in order to dodge copyright scrutiny:

[2]

Fraudulent uploads of copyright violations like this are a serious matter. I am blocking you until this matter is clarified and we have assurance from you that you are capable and willing to follow the image policies in the future. Fut.Perf. 09:02, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Somaliland50shilling.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Somaliland50shilling.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:35, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Somaliland100.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Somaliland100.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 11:17, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Vital Component! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 505 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
