[edit]As of October 2004 Season 5 of The Sopranos is premiering on E4 only 6 days ahead of Channel 4, which seems to disprove the theory that the delay is scaled with popularity. Lee M 02:34, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Likewise, Desperate Housewives is premiering just 7 days before Channel 4 (to be precise, episode 2 was screened immediately after episode 1 had screened on Channel 4 and this pattern was repeated in successive weeks, so that each episode from #2 on was screened 167 hours before its Channel 4 debut). [Since then Lost has followed the same pattern.]
- For this reason I have now removed the (?ir)relevant paragraph:
- “It should be noted that since the launch of E4, premium American imports such as those mentioned above will often be screened in advance of their showing on Channel 4. The delay appears to scale with popularity, that is to say that ER will be 2 weeks ahead on E4, Sopranos a month, Six Feet Under several months, and The West Wing several years. The last West Wing shown on Channel 4 was the third season.”
The West Wing
[edit]It isn't going to be shown on E4 anymore, just More4
texas.veggie deleted the reference to the drug Ecstasy with the comment: "(deleted the vaguely ludicrous reference to the drug -exstasy-. piffle!)" Actually it's not piffle - when E4 started there was a lot made of the reference in the papers and elsewhere, and the E4 logo still looks vaguely like a tablet. Suggest restoring the reference. Free terrestrial - subscription satellite
[edit]Just added an explanation as to why the channel is free on terrestrial, but requires a subscription on satellite. There was a big issue at the time because E4 wanted to go free on satellite and was publicized as such by E4, until BSkyB insisted on E4 honouring the contract. I don't know if all that needs to be put in so I've not gone into detail.

Irrelevant statement, with POV
[edit]It is no secret that Northern Irish Cult actress Katrina Rafferty has been getting linked with nearly every show under the sun. Some believe E4 to be responsible for this as its believed they are going to launch a sitcom in Spring 09 called Katrina starring the cult actress.
I don't think this is needed, especially in the POV manner, and definitely not in the top section. Deleted for now, based on POV, irrellevance and the fact it is is based around Katrina Rafferty, and not the article subject. Josh 11:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, actually, you've been able to get some E4 and Channel 4 shows for a few months now, such as Skins, Fonejacker and Peep Show, as well as older series like Green Wing, Black Books and Teachers. But since we released The Inbetweeners on iTunes and saw it hit number one in the TV series chart, we thought we'd blow our trumpets and tell you about it.
See the Channel 4 page on iTunes for a full list of shows and to start spending your pocket money. (If you don't already have iTunes, this link will prompt you to install it).
Episodes cost £1.89 each and you can keep the download forever, watching as many times as you like.
You can also relive The Inbetweeners and the second series of Skins right here on e4.com in pictures. So many options We're not even half way through the current series of One Tree Hill, but I can confirm that E4 have snapped up season six of the show. Season five (new episode every Monday at 9pm) runs until the end of September, then you'll have to wait patiently 'til 2009 for the next series Everybody's favourite suburban bounty hunter will return to E4 next year, for a second series. (And by 'bounty hunter' we mean Sam from Reaper, not Dog from Hawaii). It's being made as we speak in the States and you can catch it on E4 in 2009. (Note to self: better find some more hell / devil / reap puns).
Tell us what you'd like to see in the new series on the Reaper website. Will Sam ever escape Satan's contract? What are Sam's parents hiding? What new soul vessels should be invented? You get the idea.
If you're more of a Friends follower, lots of you are currently speculating that there may be a Friends movie in the pipeline. Good idea? Bad idea? Join the debate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.136.181 (talk) 19:08, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

E4 (channel) → E4 (TV channel) – This article seems to be at an oddity in that, it does not use the usual disambiguation for TV channels, e.g. Watch (TV channel), FX (TV channel) etc, Just though I would see if this article could be brought inline. [[ axg ◉ talk ]] 22:41, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
