Pacific Northwest Coast; the version cited appears to be the Kwakiutl one, although they're all similar. This is a popular story in schools and, at least in my day, was taught to non-native kids.Skookum122:25, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
@Sjc and Skookum1: As "Quileute" is explicitly mentioned in text I presumed §Quileute. Though {{citation needed}} to verify one way or other.
