Early Life
[edit]For Nathanson, music is the one. "Being a musician is the only thing I've ever committed to, much to the chagrin of every woman I've ever dated," he says. "It all started when I saw Kiss in the '70s, watching them spit fire. I thought, 'Now, that's what I want to do.'" He also had the support of loving parents. "My mom always encouraged me," he says. "It's not like a Footloose kind of childhood where I wanted to dance, but no one would let me. I was able to let loose with music." http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2011-06-16-on-the-verge-matt-nathanson-faster-modern-love_n.htm

[edit]why is there no reference to his song "bent" being a total rip-off of love spit love's "am i wrong"? I think he re-recorded it to change the phrasing too. That seems Wikipedia-worthy.
Link from outside site
[edit]I'm not sure how this will work, but I don't know as much about Matt Nathanson as I want to and couldn't find a lot online, so I went to his website and put up a link to the Wikipedia page so his fans could come in and edit. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. Obviously NPOV will come into play but as long as that's looked after, I'm sure that plenty of good information will make its way onto the page. --Alex S 04:03, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Pic
[edit]Whoever took that pic of Matt at the 9:30 club... it's pretty awesome. :) I was at that show too. Acheron 16:27, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Instrument, show types
[edit]I added a sentence about what he plays (i.e., 12-string guitar). I tried to get his three types of shows (solo, him+cello, and full band) into one sentence, but it kept seeing too unclear, so it's split into two parts... if someone can reword it better, go for it. I'm thinking of adding brief information on each album next. Acheron 17:17, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Beneath These Fireworks .jpg
[edit]Image:Beneath These Fireworks .jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:58, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Albums
[edit]I mainly focused on expanding the section “The Last of the Great Pretenders” in his Albums section. I included information about the album’s immediate success and the North American tour of the same name that is planned for this fall. I wasn't sure if I should include the quote about his new tour but I felt it highlighted his attitude towards the album and his fans. I also went into the Television section and added his recent appearance on The Jay Leno Show. I also added his recent music video which he filmed on August 20th, "Kinks Shirt". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.231.95.30 (talk) 20:35, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
