Our Children Need Help
I am a preventive case worker who watches our children become victims of society everyday. It is such a grave dissapointment to watch our young people become so materalistic and vendective to one another.
Black children have no idea of how much easier they are making it for other children to be successful. If you search the streets of "the hood" you will see future doctors, lawyers, politicians etc. however, when you go to the schools you don't see any parents there to support their children.
We credit the opposion to much - we as a people hold each other down. I pose this question - when was the last time you watched or encountered two brothers give one another a compliment without malicious undertones or how many times do you witness two sisters whispering about "that bitch think she all that" This is all we have to offer our children - NOT!!
We were kings and queens full of life and energy. Where has that gone? Where has the "nannas and pop-pops" gone. Now we have baby mamas and grandmas going to the same club or either giving birth days apart.
I urge all my people to wake up ... give our babies something to live for. Empower our children to be strong productive individuals. Teach them that the way out is through education, hard work and dedication.
And to all my brothers show our young men that the way to be a man is not through their zippers but through their success. And I beg you to take charge of our babies - take back our communities and corner stores. Follow your babies, teach your babies please don't let them become another statistic or victim of another black on black crime.
Experience of others IS THE BEST TEACHER!!! Let's raise our babies together as a people!
