I've added appearance and history to this article. There should probably be temperment and trivia as well.

Cannot figure it out!

[edit]

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to make the Quick Facts box come after the Contents box. I even modeled it after the text of other dog breed entries where the Quick Facts do come after the Contents. Please alter it if you can to make it work. --shawnregan.

Note to editors: To skilled editors reading this, for some reason when you search for this breed it says that it's a monkey, so please fix that and delete this when it's fixed. (I can't add the proof so search it up, I'm not a skilled editor but came here to say this.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:fea8:4260:287d:1d94:b4ae:a688:f752 (talk)

Can we give out a note that Affenpinschers are a rare breed?

[edit]

On the Akc popularity rank, Affenpinschers are in 148th place out of 197 recognized breeds. Plus, why are they even called a pinscher, because the characteristics of one are pointed ears, usually Black and Tan in color, a pointed muzzle, and a slender body? The affenpinscher has none of these characteristics, and looks more like a black wire-haired pug!

You're welcome to include the AKC popularity into the article, but note that's it's American popularity and may not represent how popular the breed is in Germany.
As for the name, a pinscher is a type of German ratting dog - which the Affenpinscher historically was. Traumnovelle (talk) 03:18, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I love affenpinschers, they look funny. 207.148.176.222 (talk) 03:01, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
