When the article says:

A^n is isomorphic to B^n

should this be

$A^{n}$ is isomorphic to $B^{n}$,

or is this a special notation I don't know about?

something about p-ranks? (rank $r(A)$ of an abelian group $A$ is the non-torsion rank $r_{0}(A)$ plus sum of p-ranks $r_{p}(A)$ for every prime p).
