A spool isn't an inode, and there many other technical problems in here. Don't be alarmed as things get clarified. --iMb~Mw 23:41, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Ugh, there isn't an article on NOV (overview). Off to write one. (ominously) I'll be back. --iMb~Mw 00:16, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
needs a reference
[edit]"During 2004, one poster conducted a test and reported that there was basically no change in repost requests with article sizes below 1MB. This would imply that most users should post with article sizes as close to 1MB as practical to improve server efficiency."
Anonymous anecdotal stuff like this, while quite probably true, doesn't fit in with Wikipedia sourcing policies very well. Even a Google link with the details would work. I realize that this could be a problem if the report was posted somewhere like alt.binaries.news-server-comparison that isn't well archived, but if we can't nail down specific sources it's best not to get into specific numbers. Meanwhile, it will still be here in the talk page. --iMb~Mw 03:32, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
INN vs Diablo
[edit]I see there's an INN article but no Diablo article (I put up a request in WP:RA). Can anyone briefly describe the relative merits of each compared with the other? Phr (talk) 16:08, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
