I have a CD-R copy of The Soundhouse Tapes, but it appears to be missing "strange world".

Strange World was never on the Soundhouse Tapes. It appeared on the unreleased demo that preceded it, as the article says. (On a side note, the article claims that Strange World did not appear on the first Iron Maiden album. This is not true: it's the seventh track! I made the necessary change. ;) -- Hux 18:26, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The track listing should be added to this article in my opinion. LuciferMorgan195.93.21.134 20:11, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"It is the only Iron Maiden record to feature the band as a four piece (Dave Murray is the only guitarist), creating a far 'smaller' sound than Maiden's present records which feature Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers all on guitars."

Dave Murray double-tracked the guitars on this though, no? Certainly sounds like it. So while there may be only one guitarist as a person, there are in effect at least two on the recording... Marlinspike 17:02, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Soundhouse.jpg

[edit]

Image:Soundhouse.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy Metal Disco

[edit]

Something just seems wrong about this sentence "The Soundhouse Tapes' title was taken from The Soundhouse club. This was a heavy metal disco...". Surely it was a club playing heavy-metal music and not a disco? 77.99.98.37 (talk) 14:19, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dates on the recording

[edit]

Hello all!

I have a copy of the Soundhouse Tapes and the rear sleeve is in contradiction to the information mentioned in this write up about the recording being done on New Years Eve 1978 when the EP itself clearly states that it was recorded on the 30th December 1978. Who is quoting the band members saying that it was done on the 31st is what I would like clarified because otherwise its hearsay and shouldn't be used as cannon information in this write up about the record. I know that early LP's, EP's, Singles, and Bootlegs especially, can be misprinted or just wrong but this needs to be clarified I think, being the nit picker for recorded music accuracy I am....otherwise I feel that the information about the new years eve quotes and dates for recording this album should be changed...

Unlike some people out their I have sent this through for discussion instead of just changing the information I think is incorrect beforehand.

Ok now I feel stupid. I just had another look at the page and noticed that it's from the book so going by the band its the print which is wrong.....
