- Remember to use a neutral point of view!
- If you need any help, feel free to post a question at the Help Desk
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Also, here are some odds and ends that I find useful from time to time:

Very nice map. Any chance you could do one for Banqiao Dam? --Duk 17:54, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Wow, that was fast. wonderfull image, thanks. Duk 16:55, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hi Rolfmueller, first of all, thanks for the map for Banqiao. I've checked my atlas -- the dam is at its correct location. ;) Is it fine with you if I add a small map of China in the bottom left corner, showing where the place is relative to the rest of the country?
About the Three Gorges picture -- "Chongching" should actually be spelled "Chongqing". -- ran (talk) 06:36, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
- For the new map, upload it under the same name it and it will replace the old name. (You'll get a warning message though, just click replace.) -- ran (talk) 07:03, Apr 6, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the new map! ;) I don't think I can do better, so let's use yours. What do you use to make your maps, btw? -- ran (talk) 17:05, Apr 7, 2005 (UTC)

Jinan / Jyutping
[edit]I noticed that you re-inserted the Jyutping for Jinan, un-doing HkCaGu's reversion. Firstly, I thank you for this. I don't understand why Jyutping must not appear on articles not relating to Guangdong, Hong Kong, or Macau; it certainly helps, and MOS:Chinese states nothing against adding Jyutping to such articles. 华钢琴49 (TALK) 13:47, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 22:17, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

This article looks pretty good, on the whole. It could use a bit of expansion of context - the war, background information on Sun Chuanfang, and so on, but, whilst I think that would improve the article, I don't think that's quite necessary for GA.
The major problem that this article has is a questionable reference: Shu, Sheng-Chi (2009), "Transregional Networking in the Chinese Journalistic Diaspora: Hu Wenhu/Sin Chew Jit Poh and Guomindang China, 1929-1937", Master Thesis (National University of Singapore) - is there no other reference that could be used? Master Theses are somewhat questionable sources; whilst it's not necessarily a blocker, if it's replacable with a published source, that would be preferred.
Images File:Shi jianqiao pamphlet.jpg has the wrong date; the date, as given, is after her death. I blame the Upload Wizard, which has a problem with that. Adam Cuerden (talk) 18:09, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
I'm open to being convinced on the master thesis, if you can find good Wikipedia policy that justifies its use. The image does need fixed, but this should be relatively trivial. Adam Cuerden (talk) 18:09, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Checking again, now that some additional work ha s been done, I note the master thesis is used as one of multiple sources when it's used, and is used for statements that aren't particularly controversial. As such, ✓ Pass Adam Cuerden (talk) 22:17, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
